Ground balance question ???? help to me :help:

OK whith my golden umax in all metal threshold , whith a slight humm as i lower the coil the signal gets higher but is dead silent when raising it so my question is is it out of balance in the negitive or positive ??? untill i know i cant make the adjustment need some of your expertize thanks
 
Gunnar, first you make sure that there is'nt any metal object in the ground you are trying to ballance to. Then hit retune on allmetal switch and bob the coil 8 to 10 inches to the ground. If the threshold gets louder as coil gets closer to the ground, then it is set too positive. You want the threshold to stay the same hum as you lower coil to ground.Good luck........Hombre
 
It gets louder when you lower it, so the GB is a little positive. But how much. A slight increase when raising or when lowering the coil means the balance is pretty good.
