Grip handle for a long handle sand scoop

I need just a 4 to 5 inch(straight) grip handle to add to my sand scoop handle(which has a wood handle) at a 90 degree angle so I can lift the sand scoop with one arm.
Have looked everywhere and also on the Internet and cannot find anything. Anybody know where I can buy one of these?

Hi,
I used tennis racket grip tape. It comes in different types. I used the most padded one (in Walmart) in its very comfortable and grip great. I put it on 2 years ago and is holding up great.
