Grinding out a few silver.

Not allot of postings with finds lately. Thought maybe everyone is having a tough go lately .

I started the spring out with a bang, had 25 silver by June 1st. Now it seems like they are getting few and far between for me anyway. So I decided to follow some of the veterans on this forum and start hunting deeper into the jungles of trash. Got a few with the last 2 morning hunts. I'm working 3rd shift right now so I go after work and hunt a few hours before going home.

I decided I would just go real slow and dig all the high tones like zinc pennies and twist tops to get them out of the way. Then while I'm on my knees anyway I figured I might as well scan the ground with my TRX and remove some of the other trash while I'm at it and see what turns up. I bought a little hook device at harbor freight that works well for hooking can slaw and pulltabs without digging. I turn my sensitivity down to 19 or twenty, seems to work better, less blurring of tones from multiple targets.

Got the silver quarter yesterday and few more wheat in a small trashy area I have worked about six times now. Rang up like mostly like a screw top then low tones then iron. Sounded like crap I guess. As you can see in the photo the reason it didn't sound very well. It was at seven inches with pulltabs on top and a nail alongside it. Today I got the silver nickle a silver earing, and the world's tiniest silver ring. The silver nickle and ring were together in same hole.

Ran the nickle over the coil and got a 12.16. Why does a silver nickle sound so close to a regular nickle?

Any way maybe I will get my goal of fifty silver this year.

The trash is from just thismornings hunt.

That looks like a lot of digging but you are right there's coins in that junk . sube
