Grid

Is it really much more productive to, let's say, work a grid north to south after working it east to west??

Yes, you know, sometimes, you can go over an area 3 or 4 times & still find stuff, just because you hit it differently. Working a grid only insures that you are getting 100% coverage. By walikng both ways, you will probably hit areas you missed the first time & see things at a different angle. The same technique should be used on those iffy signals you get. By turning at a different angle, sometines you get a better signal. Try it & see for yourself.

If you have any doubt pick a trasy spot. Mark off a 10 ft square. Hunt north to south, then east to west, then diagionaly from each corner. You will really be surprised what you miss from only one way. Next time you really have the time go and try it. I love to hunt the iron trash that way. :D: :D: . Later Jerry aka Tinfoil

Grid N to S, E to W and then NW to SE, and NE to SW
