No need to cut the limiter with The Ultimates that is what the white button is for, it disengages the limiter (although I can't tell much difference)the same as cutting the limiter wire in the originals. I also have a pair of Black Widows and they are considerably louder but they seem to compress the tones a bit weighting them towards the high frequencies (bass tones are not as low as in the Ulitmates. Make sure you have the volume maxed out on the explorer and max out on your ultimates and that is realy all you can do unless you but the Black Widows they are louder. Hope that helps Rick
