New to the forum, retired and thinking of getting a Tesoro. Found this photo of a purported 1984 Silver Sabre... looks pretty cool even today.

Let me know if the link doesn't work.

welcome to the club should you decide on a Tesoro........

Welcom, & hope you find a detector suted to your typ of hunting Gunnar R

Thanks, I'm still studying on all the models.... a lot to digest

Welcome to forum.

The Silver Sabre looks well used. Looks ain't everything.:)

You're on the right track. A Tesoro is hard to beat at any price.

What kind of soil will you be detecting in? You may need a Tesoro with a ground balance if you don't have pretty mild soil.

I'm in central Florida. Just sugar sand everywhere. Not really interested in salt water beaches ... mostly I want to go and spend a few days detecting my grandparents homestead which is more sand.... the house was built around 1900 and is falling down now. I played there as a child and know where all the paths used to be... the location where the outhouse used to stand, the well and the tool shed... plus a one car garage that is still partially standing. Even where the old garbage dump was located. Should be interesting. This type of detecting is probably of more interest to me than anything.

Hi there, I am a new member as well from Canada. I purchase a Tesoro Silver Micro Max for its simplicity, but most of all the warranty is what did it.
Good luck in your decision .

I saw your post on the Silver Umax.... seems like a lot of detector for the money.... sigh.... so many choices....

Number one, It looks really beat up. Number two, its really old, ALL of the Tesoros made in the past 10 years will almost certainly walk circles around that old feller. I love Tesoros, have had almost everyone at one time or another, but unless someone is giving that machine to you and it works then I'd give it a pass.

Lol.... not considering that Tesoro.... was just a photo I found on line.

welcome, Central Florida ,Sugar sand and fresh water lakes. The Tiger shark would be a very good detector for you. I have had one for about 3 months and have found enough Gold to pay for my detector. Check it out , it's a very good detector.
