Just got my V3I last night, I also picked up the 5.3 coil, Cant wait to learn a new machine.. (sold my etrac)..

Looking forward to hunting some of my hunted out areas to see what i left :)

Greg

If you use the 5.3 coil..go very slowly. It really helps pick out the little targets next to the trash. I've almost completely switched to the 5.3 in parks, and it's been very productive.

read his user's manual, read all posts concerning V3 operations, and watch me how to run the machine once I get mine.

My v31 running in hi-pro, with the 5.3 and tx on will hit targets at 10". I dont know how the detector could really be any better. I would however like a program that allows me to choose the depth to exclude. So anything on the surface could be rejected, but I would miss the fresh gold.

Welcome to the forum Greg, I think you will really like the V.

Welcome Greg, this forum is much better than the manual. It seems every day I'm learning something new from the experts that are using the V3. I suggest reading the as many posts and replies as you can. Most of the V3 users on the forum have the machine down to a science and it always helps hearing from people that can relate to any issues you might have with the V. The finds are great and the techniques they use will help much. Good luck the rest of the summer. Ron in Henrietta NY

Welcome Greg, I've been busy. I want to say good to have you here. Rob
