I live in South Texas Purchased my first machine in 1975... a Garrett Groundhog ADS Been reading thru the posts and replys It's great !!! And like minded folks too...It's sure getting me enthused Been out of the loop for awhile and very eager to get back into searching Wife got me a used GTI 2000 (ebay) a while back and haven't tried it out since I sent it, and the groundhog in to be refurbished and whatevered Usually go heavy on the discriminator and just pick up the easy stuff on virgin sites like old houses(I get old usgs maps and use local history books etc ) Likely walked over pounds of gold all those yrs but found lots of silver and etc Ideally I'd like a partner to go hunting with Last summer was way too dry hot and... busy Happy hunting!!

Welcome to the forum!:wave:This is a wonderful community and a great place to share info.:garrett:Welcome back to the hobby of metal detecting!:detecting:Feel free to ask for advice at any time. You've got some really great treasure hunting machines there. That GTI 2000 is the same as the GTI 2500 minus the backlight. I'm sure that Garrett will install that mineral chip in it while it's being refurbished. That will make it run alot smoother in areas of higher mineralization. That Groundhog hits hard on small gold. Best of luck to ya!:biggrin:Happy Hunting!:)

Just finished making my first You tube video using my Garrett set-up.
I will be check around the forum to catch up with the posting. I am sure I' ll be able to learn more about MD-ing with ACE on this forum.
Tried to use Salty as a user name on forum. But, I guess someone has that one already. So, I am Yogi now.

Thanks Garrett,
Yogi

The 2000 is a great machine, basically the same as the 2500. I field tested both of them. Welcome aboard to the best forum on the net. Look forward to seeing pics of your finds. Good luck.

Hi There Jack,

The first cut of this video did have some good narrative as I moved through the park... I showed off my equipment and scanned some targets with the ACE 250.

You tube suggests to hold the videos to ten Min's or less. Most of the good narrative was cut to stay in the time allowed.

Thanks for subscribing to my channel too. I have more ideas for Metal Detecting videos in mind as the weather warms up...

Thanks and HH
