Hi everyone!

My name is Anders and I am just about to embark on the exciting hobby of metal-detecting.

I have been reading quite a few posts this evening/night, and just had to sign up for an "account" so that I will be able to ask questions and to share my own experiences with you all.

And I must say that reading the answers to the many questions really propels me months into the many mysteries of metal-detecting. No longer the need to learn from too many mistakes than can be taken care of in advance.

So, I am just about to order my Excalibur II (800), which I intend to use here in the southern part of the Swedish east-coast. Right now, I am solely planning to go searching for lost jewelry in the water using Minelabs Excalibur II, waders and a long sandscoop.

I have read with great interest that I am able to customize my new metal-detector right from the factory (e.i. being able to change headphones) and that there is a product out there with a straight upper shaft. Great! I was about to order a so called Short Hipmount Kit - but after reading one or two negative posts about this product (when using it in the surf), I think I had better go for some other solution.

Well, no question or anything of the like today...
...just a post from me to you all that I feel very excited about having joined in on this forum.

Best,

Anders
