Started off at an old park a few towns from me dates 1916 lots of clad a few wheats and a 1942 mercury dime last time I was here I found a barber quarter so I was determined to find silver and I did them the rain came so I left.
Sundays hunt was a old homestead permission 1834 and it started off great the owner was there and I was using my D2 in sensitive FT first find was a family sterling silver spoon which had the family last name letter on it so I gave it to the owner.
I was very surprised at the lack of coinage even coppers until the end well wel got some clad a few wheats and I was working on both sides of the home when I had a nice silver sounding tone it was my second sterling spoon exact copy of the first then a small copper which I had no idea it was a US 1/2 cent then a toasted KG copper out front by the stone wall .
I could not believe not a single silver coin!
Two old dandy buttons also both had shanks
But we managed a lot of buckles Ct registration tags a dectent hunt which we made another video of will post them when Dave’s got them ready.

Looking good, nice digs

Thanks everyone nice old homestead it was like a dream spot I was amazed not one silver coin!
I was getting a bad feeling when we did not find any coppers until the last 1/2 hour.

Mark,
I have gotten out close for a bit but the completely unexpected loss of a family member, a life changing diagnosis to my wife and the loss of her service dog within the same month have prevented much hunting so far.
I think it is supposed to warm up this weekend so I will try and get out. I did buy a Manticore over the winter so that will be a nice 1-2 punch with the D2. For the little I have used the MC, seems to work very well in iron as I nabbed a couple silver with it.
One of the mercs was right beside a big rusty piece of iron so that was a nice recovery.
Dave

Thanks Dave have you been able to get out ground soft enough?

I’m sorry to hear that prayers for you and family sometimes getting out helps to stop my mind from racing and thinking about what’s going and putting all my worries on God.
Nice combo I love the D2 and Manticore together my minelab I use all the time on my beaches and inland the D2 is great I can better tell what’s in the ground that’s for sure got a few good ones yesterday neighbors farm fields and he flies his plane across the street has his own plane and runway!
