Great VA Beach Day

Hit the ocean front again. The weather was GREAT !! Still waiting for the GOLD, but will settle for what the dry sand will give up. The wind has been blowing the dry sand toward the water, bringing the hard base close to the surface. Even found a wheat penny this time. I found the cheer leader charm about 6" deep. Found many more bottle caps than I included in the picture. Had plenty more trash items that went straight to the trash cans on the beach. Can't believe it is January !! LOVE IT !!!:clapping:

So far I am just hunting the dry stuff. Been away from detecting for a while. Just got a Discovery 3300 to see how things have changed. This was my first hunt with the 3300. If I keep it up I will probably get a Minelab, so I can get my feet wet. GravediggerMax got me in the mood by seeing the great pictures of his finds. One of my best finds to date can be seen in the Lifesaving Museum at 24th st. It is a Surfman badge that I found in Cradock years ago. I LOVE the hobby !!!! Will continue as long as my health allows. I enjoy seeing your posts on the forum. There seem to be a lot of great guys and gals enjoying the hobby. Hope 08 brings great finds to all who seek them.

Rich,
If you're dry sanding, around 31st street they're tearing down the Holiday Lights displays. They bulldoze sand into piles to set the displays on. The result is a lot of surface sand (recently dropped stuff) pushed into a small area. Might be worth a swing.
