I sent them a picture of my Battery pod threaded end that had cracked. The e-mail went out last night around 10:00 pm and I received an answer by 10:00 this morning. They are sending me 2 new Threaded ends for my pods. No Cost. Now that is service. Here is the pics. I sent.

I HAVE NO IDEAL WHAT CAUSED THIS TO HAPPEN

Thanks again Minelab.

Great pictures. I don't own a minelab so I don't know what I'm looking at. Can you tell me which machine and how long have you been using it. Is this the first breakdown you've had. Also what is that part? Sounds like minelab is committed to servicing their customers. Thank you, Mike

The Excalibur 1000 has a waterproof battery pod with rechargeable batteries. What you are looking at in the pics. is the threaded end of the pod that the electronics adapter screws on. The 2 larger holes are the contacts and the small hole is the guide, plus it helps hold the contacts tight. I have had no problem with the Excal.1000, I love it I have had mine for 18 months and it gets a workout on a regular basis. The crack in the plastic waterproof battery housing doesn't leak, but I was looking to the future in case it started to. HH
