Great Independence Weekend

Received permission to hunt a late-19th century home this week...spent a couple of hours the last four mornings...had a great time!

Day 1 hunt gave up a 1917 buffalo nickel and a beautiful 1919-D merc. Popped a 3-ringer out of the ground and a half-dozen pre-1920 wheaties. Two of them (1917-D and 1918 ) came as part of a three-coin spill with a 1903. The IH chimed in at a surprising 12-40...thought he was gonna be another old wheatie...sometimes it's nice to be wrong!

Spent the next three mornings doing a cursory search of the rest of the place. Added 4 toasted V-nickels (1897, 1899, 1905, 1910) and another IH to the mix...also got a junk pocket watch.

About half of it is heavy ground cover, so gonna head back in the winter when I can swing in that stuff a little better. Can't wait to hit it in TTF! You all have an outstanding week, and good luck out there!

Beautiful finds ! :clapping:

That sure looks like a fun spot to swing! Thanks for the awesome pictures, and good luck in the future at that spot!
