Well I finally did it! After having about 12 hours on my SE I found 6 keepers on a 2 hours hunt. Its been a long time since I had such a great hunt. I went to the grove that dates from the early 1800s and I hunted it many times along with others hammering it over many years. I went to a trashy area and my first dig was a 1942 SILVER dime! My second dig was a 1942 merc! My third dig was a 1912 wheat! I was nearly in shock.I also found two more wheats and along came my indian (18++) couldnt read it,too green. So I had 6 keepers in all on a two hour hunt and in an area of about 20 foot square. The funny thing is they were not deep at all,I think the deepest was a wheat at about 7 inches, which was buried UNDER a piece of tin foil. The indian penny was only about three. Now my question is,How did all these other detectorists and myself not pick these coins up?? The high pitch warble was pretty good and repetable on the silver but the pennies were really green and gave a load high beep but it wasnt very repetable and I really had to work on getting the signal again on some of them and I pinpointed it and dug, glad I did! Anyway Im really starting to understand what my new baby is trying to tell me and I still had it in the factory settings except for turning the fast and deep setting on. I want to thank minelab for making such a great machine and this is opening up a new world for me.I have many spots that I was at with my 1266x and now there are going to be like virgin grounds again! I just cant believe that I pulled them out of this grove and there is about three acres of it to hunt. I'll be going there tonight again and many more times!
