What a great day for a hunt in the woods The forcasted rain never showed, the high for today got higher and the strong winds never rattled the trees. here is the area where we hunted. My buddy was using a garrett Gti 1500 with the small sniper coil.

I took along both the sniper and standard 9.5 imaging coil along. The rods attached to the coils fit nicely in a back pack, which my oldest son's had lying around. I nearlr brought along the yeller feller too, but thought it might me unessessary. you never know what kind of conditions you can run into in the woods.

After a few minutes in the woods, I decided to remove the standard 9.5" coil and put on the sniper. The buch was so dense that the bigger coil just couldn't move.

There were some interesting sites, with some good possibilities in the woods. Here are a couple of old trees with some boards attached so one could do some tree climing. The treee on the left actualy had a tree fort, but it had rotted away and fallen off.

There were also several spots where homeless people set up home. on the one hand, I feel sorry for them however on the other, it just isn't fair that they get to camp for free in our beautiful river valley, while I maintain a home and pay too much tax
<center><img src="http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b330/John-Edmonton/canadadry2.jpg">
Here's another spot where someone called home earlier this year. The spots they pick make great caming areas, and if you search these areas carefully, quite often you find old coins, as these same places were previously occupied after the first and second world war. On the right is a small baottle of SEVEN-UP, which had been sitting against the trunk of that tree for some time.
<center><img src="http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b330/John-Edmonton/GLASSBOTTLES2.jpg">
I did manage to find a couple of bottles which I kept. The crystal goblet was broken, so I thre it in the garbage.
<center><img src="http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b330/John-Edmonton/jacknifelipstick2.jpg">
A nice jack-knife and lipstick container were a welcomed find.
<center><img src="http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b330/John-Edmonton/LOCK2.jpg">
Dang.....I won a computer! Well I could have some years ago. It's probably too late to claim my prize. Also dug up a "SLAYMAKER LOCK" which is stamped RUSTLESS, but the long stem is about as rusted as it can get
<center><img src="http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b330/John-Edmonton/cannon2.jpg">
And finally the best! the woods gave up a musket ball, a nice WW1 military pin, a trucking thingy and a Gold (not) panda Bear!
Another day cheated on weather before the snow and "BIG FREEZE" sets in.
