Nice Carbine civilwarnut. We were out looking today in northern South
Carolina, but didn't come up with anything. Maybe next time. There is still alot of stuff out there you just have to look for it.

Did you find the carbine sling buckle and the buttplate? To find one with the carbine sling swivel snap hook still attached is simply amazing!! Has this been posted elsewhere?

I can honestly say I am glad I did NOT find this. Heart attacks CAN be fatal-not to mention soiled pants.... What a great find. You hit real relic paydirt, friend. Congrats!

Outstanding find civilwarnut! Your "sword hanger" is actually the carbine belt sling device. The CS carbine sling plate should be there unless someone dug it before you. Being brass, it would have been an easier signal to detect than the iron gun. Great find, congrats on a rare find! David@Dixie
