Big Fang Coin Biter

On my way to detect, I drove past a corner lot that I have hunted before (1870's school site). Usually the woman's garden is in there this time of year, but it was plowed up. It was easy permission since she let me hunt before. I spent about an hour and a half and had little to show. I looked up and here comes a guy from the road. Turns out to be the land owner's son. He is a TALKER... I show him the old maps of the area, and eventually I get permission to hunt his 1840's farm house. Sorry if I am turning into the talker - musta' got some on me.
At his house he continues to talk. I try gently to get detecting and realize he is going to follow me around and talk the entire time (great, so much for concentration). Before starting we agreed that we would split up the finds, and if there was something wonderful found, I would buy his half. It took me thirty seconds to find the first wheat back, I handed it to him and he pocketed it! Ok, now I see what's up, he is afraid I might find something. Next coin was a 1907 IH. He was impressed and pocketed that one too. A couple wheats and then bingo, found this little beauty! It was a great "Indian Head" signal about three inches down in a solid null. I told him right off I would buy his half of the 3-cent piece (1852). I put it in the car and we checked prices. I said I would go $15 bucks for his half and he thought that was a fair deal. Sorry, I can't stop talkin'... Then the cousin and uncle came over, and I got to hear most of the stories again and more! I hate hunting with one ear phone off. I finally headed to an area across the driveway and found a worn large cent with a hole right in the center.
Ok, now it is time to split up the finds. I could tell he really wanted the stuff, common date IH, Worn Holed LC, and about four Wheats. I said you keep them and knock $5 off the 3-cent. He thought that was super and thanked me as I walked out his door (I thanked him too).
Very odd hunt, but I ended up with one nice coin to show.
