Great day of detecting..

Got out Monday the 27th with one of my buddies to a small place that we have pounded many times. Ground was moist but now real muddy, just nice for detecting and digging. I put on the 11x13 Deus coil to see if I could sniff out something iffy or deep. First coin not 10 into it was a nice Indian Head. Yay.. great way to start. We detected our butts off. Going slowly and really listening. I got another IH, Large Cent ( can't make out the date) , a lead seal from the Erie RR, flat button, domed button with a star on it ( I don't know anything about it yet), a medallion from the Grand Army of the Republic from 1897, and a very roached Flying Eagle cent!! Mike using his CTX3030 got a 1851 Large cent, IH, Merc, 1884 Seated dime in great shape. Days like that don't come very often so I had to share. I was using the program that I mostly use, one that I got from Andy's book called the deep coin program.

Nice haul - You pulled three coins still on my list in one hunt...Large cent, a Flying Eagle cent, and a Fatty Indian! Excellent! :surprised:

Great haul . . . congratulations.

As far as the Star button, can you soak it to loosen any surface dirt off of it?

Looks like the star you see on Texas militia buttons . . . . I'd see if you can soak some dirt off and see if there were any letters on the front or makers marks on the back.
