found my 1st barber half and its a beauty, local dealer offered me 325.00 for it , vf-xf condition . also my 1st standing liberty quarter , no date , as most are , silver st. joseph metal , old lock and a buckle and some clad.

Wow Dave! That's a real beauty! I found an 1895-S way back when in that kind of shape, but I don't think its worth as much as yours. It's really fun when you find them like that...makes you appreciate the old designs as opposed to the very poor line of coins we have in circulation now.

By the way..you're from Dubuque, aren't you? My father went to Loras College from '45-'48. That's an really old school. Got a look at the grounds when he was inducted into their Athletic Hall of Fame. Have you ever tried to get permission to hunt there? Dubuque is a ways to go (I'm in Rochester, MN), but maybe sometime next year we could make a day of it down there..

Now that is a Beauty! What ever you do, don't sell her! That baby will keep going up in value with each passing year. So, how did you like that feeling when you seen that Half? What a feeling huh!!! Nice Finds and I hope there is more where those came from. Continued Success, Good Luck and HH.

That is a stunning coin Daveo!! It looks like it was dropped the day it left the Mint...WOW...Beautiful...Still waiting to find my first Barber Half...I can only hope it looks like that when it comes out of the ground...GREAT JOB!!!:clapping:
