Went to town playground as they were getting ready to put down new wood chips..found 18inch necklace at bottom of kiddy slide about an inch down....came up as zinc penny, almost didnt bother..nice surprise as my first jewelry find..says 925 italy on it so assume real...well went from there to help someone who had trailer fire 2 years ago to look for lost coins....found some silverware in ashes about where he thought they might be..was getting ready to break for lunch .we were just standing there and i just happened to kick this piece of melted up plastic mess and underneath two morgan dollars...found lost coins...but not with detector...just a fluke kick...lol...he was very grateful...i ended up with a 1879 morgan in nice shape...just black from fire..any ideas on cleaning? also gave me 4 1972 dollar coins,a 1943 liberty half dollar and a silver 1968 kennedy in mint..just needs cleaning..oh and a small meteorite from Sikhote Alin from 1947...so why did necklace come up zinc penny...? is that common?...Curt

Cool story for the finds! Just a small little paper weight sized meteorite you got there, very cool.

Probaly should make note that the black thing on tailgate isnt meteorite..its the melted plastic glob coins are in...meteorite is in little plastic pouch in box...course would have been nice if it was that big:twodetecting:

Nice bracelet Curt.

Excellent story and great silver necklace find. It's always nice to hear of another person in this hobby helping out. No matter if it's only a "kick"! Apparently it was a "kick" in the right direction. Thanks! HH, Nancy
