Got to the beach a little late today, but had a great time. 17" coil, stock beach program; unchecked GB; auto plus 3, and away we went. Pretty normal first two hours, clad and junk. As I was going from the north side of the pier to the south side of the pier I ran into a wedding party. As I was walking by I was stopped by the groom. He said the Matron of Honor dropped the brides wedding ring in the sand and asked if I might be able to find it. I said if you know about where it was dropped, I may be able to find it. He showed me his ring, a plain band, and said the one that was lost was the same type. I had him put his ring in the sand to get a sound and a Fe/Co reading on it. Low tone 12-09. Everyone was sure it was dropped in a particular area, you know how that works out!! So, I started searching and searching, nothing but trash. Meanwhile the wedding gets started! So, I moved out of the way and continued searching. Earlier I had asked the Matron of Honor where she had been walking and started working that area. About 5 min. into the new area I get a low tone with a 12-05 reading. I wonder? I scoop the target out and it's a brand new looking 14K gold channel ring with 8 diamonds! So, is this the ring? It's not just a band, it has diamonds. I ask a couple of people in the wedding party if this might be the ring. They didn't know. I waited for the ceremony to conclude and then I tapped the groom on the shoulder and asked for an exact description of the missing ring. He said it was a white gold channel ring with 8 diamonds!! Yea!! Found it!! The bride and groom were ecstatic. The bride started crying and the groom shook my hand almost until it fell off. Karma was definitely on their side this morning and they may have passed it on to me. Later that day I found another ring! I tested the ring on my gold tester and it registered 18k and the 7 diamonds tested real!! But before I get to excited I will have it checked out with my jeweler. If it's turns out to be real...wow, what a day! By the way, I got $13.05 in clad for the day also. Here is the pic of the bride and me holding the ring. The next pic is the second ring I found
