Grayton Beach S.P....Florida

Sand Scoop

New member
We're going to be heading to this park in Florida. Does anyone know if you can use a metal detector on there beach at this park?

... detect all Florida beaches from the waterline to the mean high tide ... which most people consider where vegatation begins growing or it's obvious it's the waterfront property of a residence or hotel / condo.

On hotel / condo frontage, most won't bother you unless you aren't filling your scoop holes and aren't disposing of trash you dig or see on the surface in a proper receptacle.

Exceptions include Cape Canaveral (sp?) beaches ... don't want you digging exploded rocket parts ....

Also can't hunt in the water where someone has salvage rights for old ship wrecks .... much of the "Treasure Coast" ... as in Mel Fisher's area.
