Gray Ghost Ultimates Headphones ? Could they just be like that on the ETrac ?

I just got a set of GGU-HP's and was wondering if they are like this on the Etrac only. So threshold at 30 i have to turn volume on the GG hp's all the way up in order to hear the TH . If i turn them down just slightly i cant hear the TH. And also same with a target. . So i tried a cheap pair of eagle hp's with a volume control and it was fine and at a low volume i still hear the TH. I tried the GGU-hp's on my AT-Gold and Pro and they work fine. Anyone care to comment that uses them also, please do . TY GS

Well this is an interesting thread because I traded a pair of GG's to DiggerODirt a little while ago and he told me that he was having the same problems with them. I never heard back from him if he figured it out, but you might want to get in touch with him and see if he found a solution.

No you're not alone. I have a set of Killer B's and Jolly Rogers and I have the same problem with hearing the threshold at 18 where I run it with Koss headphones. I've decided to just stick with stock headphones when using the E

My Grey Ghost Ultimates work great. I have had no issues with hearing the threshold (even with hearing loss in both ears). I even have to turn mine down sometimes.

I hope you have good luck figuring this issue out.

I use Gray Ghost on the etrac and they work great. No problems hearing the threshold and I run it at about 20.

I read the original post, and I have the same Gray Ghost Ultimate Headphones and E-Trac......Soooo I gave it a run exactly as GroundScanner did ; Threshold set at 30 and listened for the threshold hummm, the sound was way to LOUD for my ears and I have been known for having hearing loss! Therefore, I would recomend checking the stereo plug in on your E-Trac is working based on the GGU-HP worked on your other detectors. I usually run my threshold at 18-20 and I hear it loud and clear, so all I can report is my GGU-HP's work great with my E-trac. I hope you figure out the problem.

Thanks guys for your info. I tried a diff. pair of headphones in my e-trac and all was fine . I think there is something wrong with my GGU-HP's.

What groundscanner is trying to say is that , Gray Ghost headphones have to be turned up to max so you can hear the sounds of the ET. It is true , everyone of my gray Ghosts I have had have all been the same.
Why I don't know, but why do they have a volume control on the headphones then?
Pity really , they are very good sounds on them .Just can be a bit to quiet. Black Widows are the same too.
