I purchased my first ever metal detector yesterday, it was an ace 250 i have used it around my house and found one nickel and one penny. Where i live there are lots of creeks, i havent got to take the dector there yet but i hope to this weekend. I was just wondering if anyone had any advice or has had any luck searching creek banks. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks...........

I'm in northeast oklahoma and gold is pretty scarce around here but i have heard of a few people finding a little panning for it.

Ive found some coins at spots where i used to
fish as a kid...also Ive used a Magnet on a cord
to pull in a few lures from the creeks...

Anything that gets me out and hunting is GREAT

Good lcuk and Welcome ot the forum .. youll find the folks

Well then you'd better stick to looking for fishing spots, swimming holes ( especially where a rope swing is or has been ). Anywhere people do inner tubing or rafting on moving water is a good spot when the water gets down low in the summer..I don't think nuggetshooting is very big in Oklahoma. :) Around boat docks or launch ramps is a good spot.
