With the youngest son (8yrs old) at the beach today. Arrived just before noon so decided to have lunch first. After that I used the Sea Hunter Mark II and quite quickly dug a few coins......son then got an 18K ring, and within an hour two more rings (that makes fourteen this year). The batteries in my one were down (not really a good excuse because I was carrying spares) so I returned to the car and got the other Ace 150.
Continued with the coins much of the day, sure loves them, then the silver chain surfaced with a couple of rings to finish off a nice day.
In the afternoon we had a hot drink, just sitting on the sand talking, and he asked why "Great" is written on his detector, I told him it said "Garrett" but I reckon they are "Great" too. (His Japanese is MUCH better than his English.)
Just out of interest, at dinner I asked the elder son what is written on his detector, his reply "Garnet". <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D">
Tried to input the proper name into their brains. An hour later I asked again and the following came back.
"Granite"
"Great Net"
"Grand Net"
Anyway, think they've finally got it right now!
Had a great day with a couple of great Garrett's.

Man.....your whole family combined could carve out a decent living for your family metal detecting those beaches, especially those two younger guys <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol">. Did you catch the raw fish using your Sea Hunter Mark II ? You are making me hungry posting a pic of that sushi.
For your information, we are having smokies and perogies for supper <img src="/metal/html/tongue.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":b"> Great post Ian! <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">

<img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)"> Actually, the unusually BIG amount of wasabi in those made his eyes water and just about blew his nose off! <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol">
Can't see any change in the job situation John, unless we start digging LOTS more Au or Pt that is. <img src="/metal/html/wink.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=";)">
