Grandson picks on his grandpy

I took my grandson metal detecting today. He has been out twice with me. Each time he uses my backup Garret Ace 250. Today we had been out for about 10 min when he came running over to me with a big smile on his face. He had found a ring with 13 stones, which said 14 kt GEG Tiawan inside the band. I have MDing for several years and never found a ring like this. Is there a way to tell if the stones are diamonds or CZ's?????????

Go to a jewelers store. Many will do the test for free. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful story. I can just picture the little guys face as he runs to you shouting "Grampa, Grampa"

What a great find for him. You go Grandpa. Most likely CZ. If you didn't use a loupe, I would think those letters are more like KGF or HGE. Gold filled or gold electroplate. Take it to a jeweler. Please reply what you find out and what the letter stand for.

Nice find. Bet that made the little guy happy. The letters probably denote gold electroplate. If it was gold it would just say 14 KT. But it might pay to have it checked out. I'd be happy with it.
