She's 12 and my best buddy. I had shown her my collection of silver coins, rings and the many things I had found over the years. Last fall she asked me to take her. I taught her what to listen for on my faithful 6DB and could tell she got the same thrill from the hobby as I once had. I found her a 6000 series two on ebay some ear phones knee pads a digger and some gloves and we've spent many great days together. She called my yesterday said " Let's go Papa.". My knees hurt and the grass needed cut but the years have taught me whats important. "Lets go to the church camp you talk about". While explaining how it had been worked really hard over the years, I caught the signs of her disappointment and confirmed that there is always one more good find. She worked the area hard and her finds were few then, as she occasionally does, asked me to check a hit with my MXT. My reading was an 89 at 5" so I calmly told her its a good dig. The look on her face when her little Tech pin pointer from Harbor Freight sounded off and the little Stirling silver turquoise set ring sparkled through the dark soil will be in my heart forever. We high fived ,danced alittle and ya know the ring fits her finger perfectly. I expect she'll wear it for along time. What a day! I'll encourage her to help me post a pic for her soon.
