Grand Master Hunter CX lll

My CX lll has developed a warbly tone in the non motion mode, I have tried re-booting, reducing sensitivity, re-ground balancing with no effect. The batteries are good showing 3 bars. I also noticed that I could not adjust the threshold in the non motion mode it appears to be locked up. In the motion modes the detector works perfectly. Anyway I boxed it up and shipped it back to Garrett for repairs, hopefully it wont take too long. Has any other CX lll users had this problem? Best of luck to all.

Jerry:

Thanks for the reply to my post. I am still waiting for the arrival of my CX III and am very anxious to get out and use it. I have using an entry level White's machine for about 4 or 5 years now, and have gotten very proficient at using the single discriminate control to ID my finds, which have been numerous. I got out last week before winter finally hit the northeast and found an Axe head from the turn of the 20th century, a couple of Indians (1887, 1891) and Wheaties (1917, 1935) in about 45 minutes of hunting. No doubt I will be heading back to that site when I finally get the CX III!!!

Thanks again, I will be in touch!
