Graffiti At The Old Haunted Bridge.............

Kelley (Texas)

New member
A couple of weeks ago, I acquired a mint, like new Minolta MD Macro 50mm F3.5 lens with the extension tube. This is a true macro lens, and was probably made in the 1980's. The day before yesterday, I finally got an adapter to mount the lens to my DSLR. This morning I ventured out into the field to test it to see how it would do on producing landscape pictures.

I used my Sony A200 DSLR with this lens. I had to manual focus and must admit, it gave me fits because my eyes are now old eyes, don't work as good as in my younger days. Many of the pictures that I took were out of focus, but this is how you learn. This picture was taken at F8. 1/125, ISO 100, Manual Mode, Manual focus, and I used the Histogram as an aid in getting proper exposure.

Now that I am satisfied that it will produce a decent landscape picture, I will test it for close-up pictures later today or in the morning.

This picture was taken near Luxello, Texas, a small community just a tab north of San Antonio. This old railroad bridge is the MKT bridge where a young couple was rumored to have hung themselves in 1949 or 1950. I have always wondered if the gang that painted this graffiti encountered a ghost or something else that was spooky because after they painted this graffiti there is no indications that they have ever returned. This place is spooky and is not a place to visit after the sun goes down. Kelley (Texas) :)

This is the lens that I used in taking the picture. I posted this picture a week or so ago.

The stories and history of so many things in plain sight, such as this Bridge. This would make an interesting book! A list of buildings, Bridges, local landmarks with a story connected to them!
