Well I can't find any of these around so I traded in my finds for the year & bought this one. I was told it would be xf to au which I think it is at least that. Anyone out there want to share there expertise.
 
She is a beauty for sure Bula...a solid XF. The fine line between XF and BU is the BU will still have some mint luster which is hard to see in a photograph. What is impressive is the lack of severe bag marks which are very common in gold coins. You picked out a good one to be proud of for your hunting efforts of 2009. Congratulations on a great year..........:thumbup:
 
I wish I had a better camera because it does still have a good luster to it. I read that to help grade a coin u put in in the light on a angle & look for a different shine from the high spots, this helps show ware. When I did this I can't see any difference in the reflection of the light. I think at paying melt price for the coin I did OK.
 
Do I remember you saying that this was going to be a "winning year"? I had to go back in the archives....January 08, 2009 "I now have a great start for the new year & can only hope the rest of the year will be as good." I think you did fantastic this year. See what happens when you put your mind to it. :cheers: It makes me proud to see your finds and all the others here on Findmall. This metal detecting thing is one great hobby.
