Having used the GPS and Exchange 2 I have noticed something from looking at my grid path. When I'm doing a back-and-forth grid I'm always closer to my previous path when it's on my left than when it's on my right, (I'm right handed) even though I try to be very even. Not earth shaking info but interesting (at least to me anyway). Never expected that kind of info from GPS.

when you make a 180 degree turn at the end of a row, do you set the coil at the end of a swing and then pivot around the coil or do you simply take a step, turn and start down the next lane? You naturally swing farther out on the side you hold the detector. If you pivot around the detector you will see your tracks go wide/narrow/wide/narrow etc. If you pivot around yourself, your swing overlap changes instead of the track.

After seeing the GPS I figured that out.

I've found the GPS and Findpoints to be unbelievably accurate. WAY more accurate than what I was expecting. Around here it pins a target AT MOST within 6 feet, depending how accurate I am with walking my little dude onto the Findpoint location. Pretty impressive for a feature BUILT IN to a metal detector. As time goes on I slowly see more and more WHY I paid that money. INCREDIBLE machine...

But, like all GPS's I've been around, if you get behind obstructions like trees or cliffs,it can get pretty far off. Fortunately that doesn't happen to me often.

Absolutely true.
