GPS Not Working on my CTX

Anybody having the problem with their GPS not connecting? I received my CTX 5 days ago and have not been able to get the GPS to connect and stay connected. I've followed the instructions and waited for 5 to 10 minutes for it connect and just keeps flashing. I have sent numerous emails to customer support and they have returned suggestions on what to do -- Reset all, install the firmware updates -- I have done all of these a few times and still no GPS. I sent it back to them today and should be getting a new replacement within a week. I was just wondering if any other CTX user are having an issue with the GPS?

Hi 1Poll1,

I am sorry to hear that...that's disappointing.

Just in case ahem....'you might have missed a step'...there are a couple of 'moves' to get it to turn on.

Turn On
Select Display > Scroll down to Map Screen > Turn On Coordinate View > Turn On Navigation Tool
Select Options > Scroll down to GPS > Turn On > Scroll down to GPS Time Sync and Turn On

Press the 'Globe' button...and wait...
Hopefully it should come on after that...and be out in the open...away from trees and buildings.
I apologise if I'm teaching you to 'suck eggs'.

I'm having the same problem. GPS is not connecting. Tried on few places with different settings still not working. I'm thinking about sending it back. Did you 1Poll1 resolved your problem?
 
I reset my ctx 3030 and upgraded firmware GPS still not working. Minelab customer support not responding to my emails :/ I sent two messages this morning
 
Yes I finally got a hold of the tech at Minelab and they RMA'ed my machine and sent a new one to me and it worked fine. I just kept calling their number and even sent a e-mail to the home office in Australia. Finally talked to Brian Erne in Illinois at the USA center and they took care of me. No cost for shipping it back and I had the new on in less than a week.

Brian is really good. I had the pleasure of working with him for a couple different issues I had.

Be sure to check your Junk box in your email. I had emailed ML tech support some questions and never heard from them in two weeks. I finally called them, and the guy that received my emails said he had replied each time and for me to check my Junk box. Sure enough, somehow any email from ML went straight to Junk.

Fixed that, and they fixed me.
