GPS interference with detectors?

"Dr.Tones"

Was thinking about getting a nice GPS unit with all the topo maps/bells and whistles and was wondering if the unit would have any effect on my detector as I know other electronic devices can make my machine go crazy i.e. cell phone (receiving/outgoing calls), power lines......

I have a GPS unit with very few options and I can't recall it ever messing with my detector.

I think with the noise cancel option you will be fine. Heck If we can hunt under hige wires why not next to a GPS? Go for it IMHO, Beale.

Just a thought about interference I use a cheap pair of cordless headphones & have the transmitter clipped to the shaft with the aerial tie cable tied to the coil wire at the back of the housing and don't have any interference with the unit its a X-terra 50
