GPS Geo Trail

Member
Should have my 3030 tomorrow, been reading The CTX Handbook .
I'm hopeing to use the Geo Trail function on one field I want to cover as to not miss anything.
Not sure about how this all works.
Can I turn on the GPS and Geo Trail function to track my movements and record finds along the way.
At the end of the day can I record my movements and shut the machine down and then turn it on the next day and continue to track and record my movements?
Problem is I don't have a computer at this time " I know that's hard to believe" but up till now my I Pad has done what I need.
Any info on how this functions , how much memory is in there and if I can use it this way.
Thanks
B

Yes it will work but you will be limited to 10 Geohunts + 100 Findpoints + 10 Waypoints.

Before you shut the machine off, you can either:

- 'stop' the old GH and start another one when you are ready for your next hunt;

- 'pause' the GH and then resume it later(this will draw a straight line from last point to the first new startup point, not a big deal unless you are miles away when you restart), or

- power off without doing either of the above. you do NOT want to do this if you are anal about data saving.,if you do this, you will get some weird start/stop time from many decades past that is a Royal Pain to edit. you cannot change the numbers but have to click many clicks to get to the correct date/time. Once was enough for me, so I always stop the GH before powering down.

Yes to everything, but I don't know how much data storage the detector has. I have never tried seeing how many hours of hunt data the detector can hold.

I got it fired up today, did settings changes in the relic mode, more of that tomorrow,
Also did some bench air tests, and just a few minutes in the test garden.
Tomorrow will turn on the Geo hunt and track around the yard , save it and power down and restart and see if I can continue the same hunt.
Thanks for the replays
