tell you if your home is in a flood plain area. Many of these people bought these homes before this went into effect. yet some do anyhow because they are less money and gamble it. Many don't have insurance because the premiums are to high. My daughter looked at to of them like that. She is glad she listened to us as they are both under water today. They were both a distance away from the CT River but no where near high enough. They now have flood plane maps available online to see if your home is in it....

Growing up our boat yard was under water about every year from storms. No fun at all....ruins a lot of stuff if you can't move it fast enough and a ton of extra work...
