Gotta change for the better, Toltec II transformation.

Recently switched my Toltec II around some to a Umax s-handle set-up, turned the control box backwards and moved it back under the armrest.
Worked great, balanced just right, felt lightweight, swing all day.
After hunting with it for some hours several times. I would have to reach down to activate the retune toggle. Do it too many times and well, took a little too much effort.

Thought about it for several days and came up with the perfect solution to several things.
And today was the perfect day to implement them, cold and snowy outside......
First switch the control box so the controls face reward, much easier to reach over the forearm with the left hand to make adjustments.
Bring the retune/mode toggle switch to the left side of the meter box, move the meter light toggle switch to the right side of the box.
Used a 3.5 stereo plug and jack, so if I ever need to remove the control box, the retune plug can be unplugged.
Wow, this is great, just like the umax detectors, easy as pie to operate.
One last change, shorten the meter to control box cable and run it thru the center of the s-handle and come back out under the meter box.
Now the Toltec is a lot less cluttered with excess cables and has a cleaner look.

One last mod in the works is making a better stand under the control box.
Other than that, the Toltec II feels just about perfect to use.

You should be working for tesoro , or start making the sven line of detectors. Good job

My thoughts also GunnarMN, very nicely done Sven, lovely job mate:clapping:

Wish I stayed a bit nearer to you Sven and I would get you to do a mod on my Tejon, replacing my GB pot with a ten turn. I'm hopeless with a soldering iron.

Davy.
