Am on no gold ring hunt #25. Have been hunting the same surf areas that produced for me in the past. Maybe I just need to change my game entirely and go back to lakes and try some river looting. This surf gig ain't pannin' out! Maybe ya'll could just call me lake hunter or river hunter...HMMMMM, I hate it!

Didn't I read that you use a CZ20. If so do you dig just the mid
and high tones, or dig them all. How about those low tones that
may bounce to high for a second.Just wondering. You definitely
have a good style of hunting with that success. Thanks Joe

I do sometimes use PI machines. I have a couple of them. The CZ seems to have a better response under most conditions. My PI machines are White's Surfmasters and they work well over calcareous sand with little mineralization. They lose depth in mineralized areas which we have plenty of here. Just the opposite of what we always hear but I use what works for me. I have a couple CZ 20's , one 10.5 inch and a 8 inch. I use the big coil for big clean areas and the 8 inch in rocky or trashy areas. I find that my 8 inch will go just within a fraction of an inch to the same depth a the 10.5 inch and deeper for small gold rings or those ladies rings with the big diamonds. I also have a Minelabs Excalibur which is the machine I reach for last. It is great in some conditions and very poor if there is high RF interference in the area.
