Got water in the pod

New member
Went out with inlaws sword today, some water in the pod, shut me down. First time using it, so was watching for it.
I caught it early, just a few drops. Opened her up, and all seals looked good except for...
The heyco fitting wasnt filled, hmmm is that normal. I think not.
Should I fill with epoxie? Or is something better too use, it looks like they used silicone on the other holes but forgot one
Doh!
Ill try and attach pic anyone seen this before

Joe or Mel may chime in here, but id use aqua seal. Silicone can swrink and water could still get in.

Mel......this is better than normal 100% silicone? Can this be used on a piezo? I like permatec products.

I use it on my piezo head sets and where ever I want to keep water out. It flows into every nook and cranny unlike regular silicone.

Funny they did not fill the coil side, it would be quicker to change the coil for sure...

On the fills I use heated epoxy, flows like water when heated and no air bubbles but your limited on the pour time.

Epoxy sounds right ..... how would silicone hold up if you wanted to dive or pressure test it? Think that was a repair Joe? So Joe, that epoxy..... is that something you use in your glue gun? To add to this was of the BEST ways to get water in the pod is by using a garden hose with high pressure.

Sounds good Mel, will get me some of that. I may just try heating some epoxie, cause have that on hand.
To heat maybe ill just put the tube in some hot water, should be the trick! Thanks Joe

Two parts mixed and as I mix I heat with a hairdryer or a heat gun, no air bubbles .. flows like water , but will harden in less then a minute...so you have to be fast.

Dew I seen some of the swords come with silicon and a few come in just like that ..with none..I would say the factory used none, then if repaired they used silicon..

I bet Mel would know for sure how they came off the line..
