Got trouble.Need your help with MXT VDI

Took the MXT out this morning to test out my new 6x10DD coil.
Everything was going good for the first 10 minutes. Then the screen went out on me.
I turned the machine on and off a couple times before the screen came back on. The coil was working fine.
I could hear the MXT zeroing in on the target as the coil passed over it but NO VDI came on.
I finally got it working ok and then the letters went crazy. They looked like lower case Japanese
writing!!!! I called the Whites dealer in my area and he never heard of that happening. I said it was in the lower 30's
but he said that should not cause the screen to act up like that. SOOOOoooo whats going on?
Anyone else have this happen and what was the end results.

Regards

Rob; There is one possible simple solution. I have known the Ribbon from the electronics box to the meter sometimes comes unplugged if the receptical is not tight enough. VERY CAREFULLY, pop the back off the meter pod. There is a Gray Ribbon of wires leading into the meter pod from the electronics box. Sometimes that comes unpluged or gets real loose. If it is still plugged in, wiggle it where it plugs in. If it is loose, pull it off and squeeze the plug in togather just a little. Be very careful not to over do it or the ribbon end will not plug back in. If that is not the trouble you may well have to send it in but be sure and call first and talk to a tech. They may be able to help you.

Finally talked to someone at Sweet Home Oregon service center who is familiar with the problem.
Apparently when the machine starts sending jibberish to the VDI its an LCD problem. I'll have to
send it into Tony and have the LCD replace, also send the new coil and make sure the machine is
calibrated to the new coil properly. $68 isn't a bad price to pay to get this baby up and running. AT least I
have my ACe 250 to use while the MXT is out of comission.

Just shipped the MXT to Tony to be repaired.
Guess I'm stuck with the Ace 250 for a few days.
I tried the MXT again today for an hour before the screen
started acting up.:sadwalk:
