My detecting partner has a few detectors so he brought the Vanquish 540 for me to try out this morning. just a few observations... Running in coin mode with the sensitivity down 2 notches from full I really liked the depth. it's also very easy to determine falsing from a target. I also liked the fact that deeper targets are lower in volume ...(I have to manually set this on my E-trac). the one thing I really wish it had were more tones. a solid 18 sounds the same as a solid 30.... this kinda drove me nuts waiting for that high pitched squeal I'm so used to with the E-trac. the VDI numbers are similiar to the NOX 800 so it was quite easy to have an idea what my targets were... I dug a bit of trash though and had fun doing it! ...all and all it was a whole lot of fun swinging a machine like that.

Yes it is a fantastic little unit. About the best bang for the buck out currently.

I used one side by side with an equinox 600 and although the eq has many more settings to fiddle with, the vanquish held its own on the same target in the ground.

The price vs performance makes it a super fun machine to use without it hurting the wallet so much.

I am surprised more people have not spoken up about it on your post here. I see alot of the threads are just sitting idle. I guess it is too hot to enjoy detecting currently....it is that way here in the south.

Too hot and dry.

I have the NOX 600 with the 12' and 6" coils
I have 2 Vanquish 540 one with the V10 and one with the V8 coils
I really like the Vanquish with the V8 coil the most.. SO simply and will finds just as much as the NOX when it locks on a target you sure know it.. Volume .. Sens .. Notch is right there on the face ..
If Minelab would make a V8 coil for the NOX .. Prob could not keep them in stock
