Well in my first trip I struck gold!! A mans 10kt gold ring and a 14kt gold necklace with heart charm!! First gold I have found all season they both fell in the foil range. I have just recently got this detector have been using quite a few others this year but I swear this is the deepest easiest detector I have ever used. I hunted today with it at local school and found 8 quarters 10 dimes 22nickels 28 pennies and for the find of the day a 1971 Kennedy half. Friday my son and I are going to hit the local beach to see if we can strike gold again! I just wish I had got this detector a long time ago! Now my old sites are like new again!! And I swear I have never found as many nickels in my 20+ years of detecting as I have found with this detector!! Later guys

Well that makes me feel good having just purchased a CZ-5 and expect it to come in about a week. I can't imagine a better omen to the new venture. I wanted something to complement my 'shallow' but super Gold Bug and non-disc HHPI. Looking forward to rehunting where I found silver and gold this year! Thanks Morgan!

Tom this detector will probably become your prime detector the multi tones are awesome when you hear a medium tone your heart will skip a beat especially when you look down at the meter and it shows foil that's where both my gold targets fell my personal wedding band which is 10kt hits at a nickel on the id and sings off in high tone. This detector is the best I have ever held in my hands! You will be amazed I know I am with mine. I plan on eventually getting the 10" & 5" coils to go with it. But the 8" is awesome by its self!

88junior, sounds like you are off to a great start with your CZ5. Nice job ! I have a CZ5 with 5", 8" and 10 1/2" coils and can tell you the other coils are great also. The 5' coil is awesome in the trash and as deep as the 8 inch coil. The 10 1/2" coil is better in open areas with less trash and seems to like coins on edge. I wouldn't trade my CZ5 for any of the new detectors that are supposed to be so good. The CZ's will hang with the best of them today. HH...............

I think I may have been remiss in not trying harder to pick up the 5 & 10.5 coils when I could have, but I am a little top heavy on my hardware investment in this economy. Oh well, I am really looking to big things with this stick. I had a great day yesterday- 3 Wheats (a 1910s!) and a nice '53 Rosie dime. Really want to do that dirt with the CZ-5!

Yep Roger I always liked my 1266x I had, it done pretty good on coins and relics but I believe as far as depth & discrimination the CZ-5 knocks it out of the park! It's also nice not to have to put in a bunch of settings in order to get optimal performance out of a detector! I also use a Tejon but I believe the 1266x has a little more depth but the discrimination on the Tejon is awesome! I wish they would have made a CZ series that has the id set up with relics in the display

I have owned almost all of the 1200x series Fishers including two 1266x's. I like the balance of the 1266x over the CZ5, it just feels like an extension of your arm. The CZ5 feels a tad top heavy to me and I'm not a big hipmount fan, so I leave it pole mounted most of the time.
I have dug some extremely deep targets with the 1266x but it seems the CZ5 does it on a more regular basis. I would like to have the CZ5 set up on the 1266x rod system, not sure if it could be done or not, but I would sure try it if I had a 1266x rod system.
I see more and more people buying up the CZ's and remarking about how great they are. They may not be the latest greatest detector on the market, but a nice used CZ won't cost you 1500.00 dollars either. They are still one of the best detectors ever built by any company and one of the deepest
ever made. Enjoy your new CZ5.... you have a great detector!.............HH.

Roger I agree with you on the 1266 rod system it just balances out just right, if you belt mount the CZ-5 it's a little aggravating to pin-point with. But as far as stability during operation the CZ wins hand down!! It goes deep and seems to work in places that would drive the 1266x crazy.
