Got to try out the new coil today

Went to a area that was thick with small and large iron. Was able to pull out two eagle buttons three flat buttons and a three ring bullet and some other brass pieces.
So far I like it. Would like it even better if it was a DD.

You may be waiting a long time and passing up a lot of good missed targets. But then there is more for us to find so by all means keep waiting.

Although I'll probably end up getting the new, smaller coil, as my wife always wants some gift suggestions, I'm not totally convienced myself one is needed. I dug a target this morning that gave me a high and a mid tone and bounced from 68 to 74. In the 6" clump was a rusty nail, a wheat cent and a Mexican cinco centavos coin. In my opinion, the stock coil does pretty darn good. Those of you that have them, keep us abreast, though. HH jim tn

I seem to still be able to hunt trashy places very well with it. I really don't see the need for a small coil. I can sniff out trash right next to a coin almost every time. I have even field tested it side by side with my SE and 8" coil. The F75 wins almost every time. The F75 with stock coil just "finds" more that my SE even with its 8" DD coil on. In my opinion its the better separation of the coil. I have never seen such a good stock DD coil on any machine I have ever owned or used. I "might" buy a smaller coil if one comes out in a DD. If you spend some quality time getting to know the stock coil you may be as impressed with it as I am. It is a hands down better separator than all my Minelabs and their different coils. Elliptical coils just plain suck in my opinion. They get to much under the "hot" part at once. I cant imagine how good a small DD coil on the F75 would separate.

HINT HINT Sun-Ray......lol

Low Boy got a local dealer to order me one from fisher. It is better than the stock coil for very trashy areas for sure. The area I hunted yesterday was so full of iron you will
get several nail hits every time you swing the coil. I do agree that a DD in this coil would have been better and able to seperate the trash even better. The concentric should get a little more depth than the dd in same size would get so maybe there is room for both come on fisher give us a DD this size or a little larger also.

It is epoxy filled so it about as heavy as the stock coil. Could have been made lighter but it balances well so I guess it is OK.

the smaller coil well do well in tigh areas. I have hunted a few places that the F75 missed coins they were butted up near the sidewalk. I tired so I have to bring out my compass with the 6 inch coil!

Hi Jason,

Thanks for the report on the smaller coil, And I agree a DD would have been better.

On the other hand, The heavy epoxy filled smaller coil should help the coil handle mineralization from fresh water lakes and prolong the life of the coil, Plus keep the coil from floating :)

In addition to relic detecting I feel the smaller coil will make the F-75 a hot jewelry detector when wading in the water, A big plus for sure!

Thanks again,
Paul (Ca)

Nothing great but you can pull some goodies out of some heavy iron this site has thousands of nails and large iron. Could not even hunt it with my shadow X2 and 7in coil. The shadow X2 is usually good in iron buy this spot is loaded This stuff was all found with the small coil. I still think a DD coil would be better but this one is better than what we had before.
