Got to love my Garrett AT Pro

Waterdog

Well-known member
I had a Minelab, just too heavy so I sold that got an XP Deus, but have not learned it yet. So Out with the Garrett AT Pro to enjoy the afternoon with friends.

keep the wireless it will out hunt the pro Ive used both and the deus will smoke the pro when you learn it. Im not brand loyal I just use what works. the at is a solid machine and just bought my son in law one with a nel coil. If you take the time to learn the deus you will be very suprized at what it will do. I can walk over sites where ive hunted with the pro and the deus will pick target I left in the ground the deus is the best relic machine hands down.My buddy just retired his t2 because he saw me go to pounded out site and pull targets other machines have lefted behind. I have programs if your interested, at pro is good but the deus is great take the time to learn it.The deus really shines in iron and thick trash if you learn how to set it up and the deep programs for when your away from the trash will hit a south carolina button at 14 ins or so on an air test.and it only weighs 2.2 pounds.just my 2 cents not worth much.

I don't like knocking other makes/models of detectors, however, regarding the Deus.....3 separate functions (detector, coil and wireless headset) requiring separate batteries was always a turn off for me. Not very well thought out.

Its not bad to charge at all .Challenge accepted ! LOL I do save money on batteries as these will last for a few years and some have had them longer. Im being very honest here and not just trying to knock a detector , I found some serious finds with the at pro and became very good with it hunting relics. Found half reale , cannon ball ,confederate buttons and alot of other good stuff with it. Im telling you the deus is in another class when it comes to lifting targets from iron or trash its unbelievable what it will do. Will the deus out perform the AT pro on depth and target seperation yes it will anyday of the week. The at pro is good but the deus is better. I know that will ruffle some feathers but thats the truth from someone whos used both. Should a 500,00 detector outperform a 1200.00 No its like comparing apples to oranges.
I have nothing to gain from saying that im not a dealer im a relic hunter and i just want the best tool for the job, I was worried about that charging bit too but its no big deal throw it on the charger for a couple hours and your good to go for 11 hours that could be 2 hunting trips for some.If you guys are ever up my way let me know and I will give you demo of what this machine is capable of. Again im not brand loyal but I will tell you this my hunting partner used a t2 and the pro would eat its lunch imo.Im always on the deus forum posting and stop by here sometimes to see if I can help with tips on the pro.check out the vermont copper I found in todays finds. That came from a site that was beat to death by other detectors.

I'm an electronic engineer, I know how these detector are design, take it from me, you're only paying for the wireless part, take that away and its about the same price,

you can take the wireless away but that wont change the fact that the deus will outperform the pro on depth and target seperation in iron and thick trash. The wireless feature is worth a few hundred byitself its very nice not being attached to the detector. Plus the deus is about 4 or 5 detectors in one because of the adjustability of the thing and the 2 pounds makes it a real pleasure to swing. You have the right to say that but having pretty much mastered the pro and being very well versed with deus . The wireless feature is NOT the only difference in these two detectors. But the one cost double the price of the other and it should be better. The pro is a solid proven machine but if you ever decide to upgrade do your research on the deus its a solid performer imo there is not a better relic machine available .It seems like your hunting buddy has a deus wait till he gets versed with it and you will see where im coming from. When he gets versed with it find the most irony or trashiest place you can find and grid you out a 10 x 4 section you walk through it with your pro digging every non ferrous target and then let him come right behind you and you will see what im talking about.

lets see in 3 years with the pro, ( schools and parks only) 67 gold rings, 78 silver rings, countless silver coins and over $9,000 in clad, can the wireless beat that LOL

Man thats alot of finds I do love the sound of the pro when it gets over a silver coin! I hunt relics at colonial and civil war era homesites mainly so I will let you know in 3 yrs how many buttons and relics Ive found.lol.
Just for kicks the other weekend me and my son in law had a coin shootout at the old ice cream store they tore down in town. He found 7 coins with the pro and I found 33 coins with the wireless just saying LOL PRo is one of the best no doubt but i will leave it at that. happy hunting

I buy American, too much garbage from overseas flooding our markets. I swear I have been taken a half dozen times this year buying stuff that just sounds too good to be true. I have a $40.00 dollar pair of sunglasses that dont record my hunts. A $40.00 dollar collection pouch that took 6 months to get here. Business cards to hand out to prospects for hunts that I was charged twice what was quoted in the invoice. The cards never showed up so I asked about them. No refund was given. All these overseas sellers refused to give refund or accept items back. My wifes bank account got hacked off a social site and drained her entire account. We never did get all that back, and yes a overseas seller saying she ordered Viagra......folks deal local or at least with a dealer that can get your stuff fixed when something goes wrong. You spend way too much on your toys to get 4# dollars worth of plastic and wires lol.

I try to buy whats works and is proven. Example fishing reels the best come from japan how do I know this experience.
