Spent a couple hours in left field today. Did wonderful. A nice .925 Cross, 1899 IH, a V nickel that all i can make out is the left side of the face and bottom of the V on the other side and some 40's nickels and stuff. No silver coinage. Can't wait to go back tomorrow morning!

Edit - Strange thing though... the IH came up +36 VDI. Both on my Coil and DX-1.

Very nice finds congrats , you had a great hunt . What settings and what coil did you have on during the hunt . Nice job .

The 10x12. She was hitting em deep. That nickel was a good 10 inches and though a little jumpy on the VDI at first, it had the sound of a solid hit. As for settings, I was set to relic, ground, +1.5 gain, 2.5 disc with the slightest buzz for threshold.

Is the one nickel a silver war nickel? It's shiny enough since you said it was in the 40's. Great finds all around. Thanks for sharing and HH, Nancy

Silver war nickel? I didn't know such existed nancy! It is in the 40's. I shoulda put 2 'n 2 together. I wondered why it was so bright. Ill check when I get home and post the date.

FANTASTIC!!!! :clapping: It is a war nickel. OK, now what's the mintage of it? It will be on the back above the dome. Those war nickels are the only ones with a mint mark on the back. I believe so anyway. Way to go! HH, Nancy

Left field ? Yeah I'm familiar with that area, been there most of my life. Haven't ever found a war nickel there though. Nice work X.
