Got to get this off my chest. [Happened yrs. ago]

A friend who owned a farm gave me a heads-up that he was bringing down the old house. Said he would brush hog the area if I wanted to hunt it. Well I started in the front yard, nothing great- couple of Wheats, old washers, etc.
Moved to the back, some of the same, but not much. So I seen an old small orchard and went scratching around over there. Soon enough, just off a old apple tree, I got a real good hit, up in the fifty cent range. Well tapped something with my screwdriver, but felt like wood. Still the sig. was coming in even better. I was pretty careful back than, and after a while, I almost flipped. I'd unearthed a rotten, wooden box, maybe little over a foot long. Checked it, and the target was inside it. Carefully pryed it open, and somethings rapped in a moldy cloth. Cloth, easly came apart, & my nerves were jumping. And there it was, a pile of old cat bones and fur. With a big Sturling Silver tag, labled "Fluffy" Thats right, I dug up Fluffy !! Well a feeling of guilt, and embarasment came over me like a wave. I than did what at the time I thought was the right thing. What would have you guys done ?

PS Rob one little grave, and forever be called a Grave Robber !

But I probably would have left it. I am superstitious about those things.

X2, I would leave it alone. not like when you find deer sheds.

I would have reburied it also. I don't want anybody digging me up again when I am gone.

I'd a kept it...silver is silver...just saying...besides, I'm a dog man....

Fluffy probably hated dragging that damn thing around it's whole life and would've been happy to finally get rid of it. I would have relieved the poor kitty of it's burden.

I'm not sure what I'd have done, but love the story.

Anybody remember that TV cat food commercial that one of our great old heavy weight boxers, Jack Dempsey did?---He said "I like cats better'n dogs and I don't care who knows it"!!--Must've added a few cat lovers to the tally! ;)-----Nah, I would have left the tag with dear ole Fluffy! :)

It would have probably freaked me out a little. I would have to think of my situation at the time to say if i would have kept it or not. If i was needing money, if my family was struggling, and if it was silver, i probably would have kept it for monetary reasons. But if i found it and i didn't need the silver for monetary reasons i would have re buried it out of respect for the human owners and death. Just my thoughts.
