think it's an old soap holder....might be plated but its not marked so don't know for sure.....rung up 1/47 in TTF mode.... not sure, but i think the etrac yelled at me and said hey, $h!th*@d!!! dig here!!!!! lol.....pretty cool find anyway.....
doesn't feel like aluminum though it is light....its a very thin gauge metal but a magnet doesn't stick to it....just tried scratching it with a knife and it's not aluminum....may be stainless but it's hard to tell
I remember those for holding a bar of soap to put in your Dopp Kit.....now that is a name that will have some of the youngsters scratching there heads.
I never saw a silver one but hey my family was not the silver spoon type....or in this case soap container!
Might be ladies compact. I found a compact the other day buried at about 8 inches. I believe it came in around the same FE/CO. Mine was black when it came out of the ground and I'm still trying to clean it up. It has a hinged lid and the mirror was still inside, but the coating on the back of the mirror has peeled off. I believe mine is made out of copper or something similar. I can post a pic if you would like to compare it to what you found.
