I decided I had enough wading and scooping , land detecting and staying at home the last few weeks, SO I decided to get all my dive gear together and go out and have FUN!!! Thunderstorms and rain, but warm makes a nice day. HOWEVER, in deciding which lake to splash around in I picked a spring fed lake!!! LOL WHAT was I thinking!! First problem was I didn't bring enough weight. I have a new BC and a new wetsuit and I wore the same amount as I had before. WELL this cork floated. So walked along the shore and found a brick to put under my cumber-bun. Well that worked a bit until I found a nice long heavy metal rod and added that. Ok now we sank, but was a bit cold. But the hour and a half drive to get there was worth it. I did manage to find a 1931 class ring 10K, my second Michigan Steel Boat Company brass plate and a wheatie. 1.16 in new coins and a brass dare devil and two old lead lures were my finds for today. The ring weighs 6.4 grams which is 139.00 as of today. LOL also at close to the end of my dive I found a VERY old weight belt with 2 3lb weights on it. Went to shore and took the weights off and put them in the pockets of my BC. That worked better than the brick!! NOW we just need warmer water!!

On land and wading the last two weeks I found 2 mercs, 3 silver Washington's, a 8,6 gram 14K white gold men's band, a large silver religious medal and a bunch of new stuff.

Thinking about trying again tomorrow. LOL NOT a spring fed lake though.

Great write up of a plan and its modification as the situation dictated! Glad to see you are getting in it early this year! Didn't anybody tell you these Michigan lakes are all hunted out? Great hunting!
