Got the Toltec 100 today :)

After much anticipation and tracking watching the Toltec 100 has arrived. Totally mint and pretty. Of course we would have to be having a monsoon right now but I have been playing with it indoors and I like it. Target ID is perfect. I like how the needle stops rock solid on a particular number...unlike the Whites 5900 that I had which the needle seemed to bounce and move quite a bit. Cant wait to try her outside once this deluge stops.

Hey Congratulations..... The Toltec was my favorite for many years. One of the tips you can do with the Toltec to take advantage of that 45- Discriminator is to run it on Minimum. I found that most of the common trash other Brands bite off on would be eliminated. When the Toltec Sound off with its repeatable audio response, BUT the Digital Meter did NOT Move, it was a Gold Chain. Other interesting targets also responded similarly in our Foster City Soil.

Thanks guys. Im enjoying it. Got out in the yard for aa few minutes today. Super easycto ground balance and lighter than it looked in the picture.

I did notice a couple signals that gave an audio response but no meter reading at all. I was assuming a hunk of iron or something so I passed them up.

Before passing Such Targets up..... Raise the Coil up about 4 to 6"s from the Target and listen to them in the all metal mode.

Your Better Targets have a Softer Wider Flowing Response.

Just think.... With a 45 Degree Discriminator MOST Small Ferrous/Iron is not even heard. This holds true for Foil which has a Distinct Hard Edge on a Tesoro True Target Response thanks to Tesoros #1 Analog Sound. Junk that does break through the Discriminator has a very narrow hard edge with the Toltec 100 and that holds 'True' throughout the Tesoro Line Up even today.

I have never used a Toltec but as i understand it they have a cult following, one thing i can say dont ever 'pass' on a target that you have no idea what it is,many a good find has been lost because of that way of thinking, until you actually can see that its iron then any iffy signal that you are not sure about has to come out. That is why i am certain that some folks are so successful in finding decent finds all the time, they leave nothing in the ground.
