Got the RNB battery installed today in the Excal 1000.

Will do. It took about an hour to charge the battery the first time. I guess it was already partially charged.

I heard that another user had gotten 16 hours or so and was still going strong.

It was a very easy installation. The battery fit into the pod quite easily. I cleaned and re-silicone the O-Ring, closed the lid, then used silicone adhesive inside the black gasket to (hopefully) create a waterproof seal around the lid itself.

I keep asking about gettin a Lith from them for the Xcal right after they put one out for the Explorers...... which was one heck of a game changer. Waited and waited and they said its in the works. Finally another company came out with the 1600........ i have them in my machines now so i cant justify the purchase since i rotate batteries. Great option if you havent upgraded...... since there will always be the argument that at half battery you need to change. Hope they have a lot of testing....... because Lith seems to be the ones blowing up when hot. This was a needed change.

I talked to the rep about the battery fire issue-- he assured me that would not be a problem with his battery. Hope he's right.

Going to try it out tomorrow if the weather holds.

If icatch on fire, I'll report in.

Those fire batteries were a certain model and brand that had the wiring improperly places so that they shorted out easily. Good design will preclude that.

Were you ever around Scott/Fentress County, Tennessee in the 1860's?

If so, we may have some mutual relatives. :drinking:

The real Champ Ferguson may well have been.
But I was in Scott earlier this year......
