After a 6-8 week lay off due to back and leg problems, I finally got out to do a bit of detecting. And it seems it was a good time to get back at it! Yesterday I hit a spot that had me getting targets about every 2-3 feet. I got a bunch of dimes and nickels, about 15 each. I also got 3 quarters and not a lot of trash. After a while, and it was getting dark, the targets were getting scarce when I got a nice solid 50-51 on my Deus, dug down about 4" and out pops what looks like a gold ring with diamonds and ruby's! I left shortly after finding the ring. When I got home I tested the diamonds and they tested real!! The ruby's I'm not sure about. I tested the gold ring, it's not marked, and it tested 12k. Woo Hoo, my first piece of gold in a while!!
Today I went back to the same park and same area to do a bit of more precise detecting and the QUAD-FECTA happened. I got a silver quarter ('53 P), wheat penny ('50 S), foreign coin (French) and...another GOLD RING!! 14k gold about 2.4 grams. I need to weigh it to be sure. What a hunt!!
